Polk Theater was built in 1928 as a vaudeville/movie theater for the Lakeland community. Today it has been restored close to its original appearance, including ornately tiled staircases, columns, chandeliers, faux balconies and many other details. Independent films and performing arts shows are often shown inside the theater, which is also used for special community and private events.
